Mrs. Treuting was a champion in the cause of Nurse Practitioner education and their role in Louisiana. As a 1973 MPH graduate at Tulane School of Public Health, I experienced her joyfulness and enthusiasm. Our NP State organization was privileged to have her attend when the scholarship was named for her. We were happy to take our picture with her, with her smiling that smile that lit up the room. Our champion and matriarch lives on each time we take care of our patients . Of course she went to heaven during National Nurse Practitioner week! Our prayers are with you all.

I was one of Edna's students from Tulane in the early 80s. She was an incredible person and teacher and made each of her students fill like they were an important individual.
She exemplified the essence of caring. Decades after graduating and we would run into each other at conferences, she remembered me by name. Edna was an inspiration to me in my nursing and NP career. She will always be remembered fondly. I'm so sorry for your loss.

To Keith, Jamie, Madeline and Karen and the entire Treuting family my deepest symphathy. Your mom was one of a kind. In the few short months I have known her she has made me a better person. I enjoyed every minute I spent with her and over the last two days of being back at work, I miss her already. She loved you all dearly and was a very proud mother.
