July 22, 1940 ~ May 21, 2020 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Tribute

Bill Rapp died peacefully following a stroke on May 21, 2020, in New Orleans. He would have been 80 in July. He will forever live in the loving hearts of his wife of 53 years, Mary Jane (Firkaly) Rapp, his daughter, Laura Rapp and her husband Robert Boucher. He was the eldest son of Elmer and Frances (Swoboda) Rapp and was proceeded in death by his brother, Jim Rapp. He is survived by his brother, John Roger Rapp, Jim's wife Mary Ann (Jula) Rapp, and his nieces Jamie Beilstein and Mandy Mudrick, He graduated from Ambridge High in 1959 and Youngstown University in 1968. Throughout his career he worked in the fabric industry which gave him the opportunity to travel extensively. Bill was a loving, irreverent, funny man who loved telling stories. Whether they were about his days under the ice in Greenland, his travels to China as a buyer or his fishing trips to the Outer Banks, he never failed to entertain. Everyone who knew him had a favorite "Old Will" story. He and Mary Jane had lived in many states during their marriage and had collected many, many dear friends. In his memory, his family would like you to raise a glass to Bill, wherever you are, and share a story. No tears but rather joy and laughter for knowing such an endearing man. A special thanks to Meredith Maxwell MD and her staff for always being there for him. JACOB SCHOEN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119 in charge of arrangements.
