W. Wayne Kerth, 73, died Suddenly on Wednesday, September 20, 2017.  Mr. Kerth was born in London, Kentucky on May 7, 1944 to Winchester and Marguerite Kerth.  Wayne was a lifelong resident of New Orleans who loved NOLA music and culture.  He joined the New Orleans Fire Department in January  of 1964 and retired as a District Chief after 27 years.  On March 28, 1964,  Wayne married the love of his life, Glenda Frere and they were married for 53 years.  He was preceded in death by his father, Winchester ( Winnie) Kerth; his father in law Jules Frere; his son Daniel (Danny) Kerth; and his brother Mike Kerth.  He is survived by his wife Glenda F. Kerth; his daughter, Terry Kerth Upshaw and her husband Eric; his son David Kerth and his wife Amber; his daughter in law Rhonda Martinez Kerth; his mother Marguerite (Bicky) Kerth; and his brother, Kenny Kerth.  He left behind 7 adored grandchildren, Benjamin Dalferes; Landry, Ryder, and Caldwell Kerth; Zachary, Olivia, and  Isabella Kerth.  Also four nieces and nephews, Nicholas and Madison Kerth and Clay and Jamie Kerth.  The family celebrated a private memorial service at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home on Saturday September 23, 2017.
