Warren Raymond Schmitt, born May 30, 1921, quietly passed away on Wednesday November 29, 2017, at the age of 96. He was a loving husband of the late Dorothy Rafael Schmitt, father of two daughters Noelle Schmitt Gillies and Dorren Rafael Schmitt, father-in-law to Frederick (Rickey) Gillies, and grandfather to Angela Gillies, and Rickey Gillies.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Retired from Inland Steel, a member of the People Program and Sunday night Jefferson Orleans dancing for many years, volunteered at the WWII museum, and served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard in New Orleans and U.S. Navy during World War II and Korean Wars.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 7, 2017 in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in St. Louis #3 Cemetery.
