Virginia Mary Gros

April 3, 1962 ~ November 21, 2018 (age 56) 56 Years Old

Tribute

Departed her earthly home on Wednesday, November 21, at the age of 56, to dwell in the house of the Lord along with her beloved father, Edward Gros, Sr. and her grandparents, Howard and Pauline Gros and Anthony and Lillian Talamo. Ginger lived the last several years fighting a brave fight against cancer and multiple sclerosis.

As a person who loved to please others Ginger was an amazing cook, cake decorator, craft-maker, and floral designer. She would do anything to make others happy, including giving away her last dollar or the shirt off her back. She loved animals and was “Mommie” to Dewey and Duff, her wild beagles and “Gin” to Daisy, the spoiled chihuahua. We are sure she joined her other babies who crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Ginger will be greatly missed by her family, especially her mother, Carmela Talamo Gros and her sisters, Debra Gros Zimmer (Keith), Donna Gros Anderson (David), and a brother, Edward Gros, Jr. (Celeste). Ginger was especially devoted to her Godchild, Kellie C. Zimmer, and her nieces, Courtney L. Anderson and Sara B. Anderson along with a nephew, Edward M. Gros, III. She is also survived by numerous cousins and their families, who were more like sisters and brothers to her.

Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 12:15 pm, which will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal Street. Visitation is from 9:30 until 12:15. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel. Burial will be in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens, 701 Virtue Street, Chalmette.
