Virginia Treuting Dupre Readeu Brotmeyer was born in New Orleans on September 24, 1923. Passed away peacefully of natural causes on January 9, 2021 at the age of 97. She was a native of New Orleans for 83 years and a resident of Metairie for 15 years. Wife of the late Vernon J. Dupre, Junior Readeu and Peter J. Brotmeyer, Jr. Mother of William A. Dupre and the late Vernon J. Dupre, Jr. Sister of the late Maybelle Treuting Dupuy (Edgar) and Mary Rose Treuting Martinez (William). Sister-in-law of Marion Dupre Sanders, Gerald Brotmeyer, Irwin and Claire Brotmeyer, and the late Eldon, Isaphine and Placide Dupre. Daughter of the late Bernard Treuting and Ruby Smith Treuting. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Virginia grew up in Gentilly and attended Capdau Junior High & McDonough High School. She worked as an accountant assistant and a legal secretary for many years but enjoyed being a housewife most of all. She was a lifetime member of The Avalon Social Club, and a member of The Confused Couples Carnival Club. She was involved in many Catholic Church activities at St. James Major, St. Raphael and St. Angela Merici Parishes. She will be dearly missed by her family and all that knew her.
Relatives and friends of the family, employees of Entergy Corp. and the Royal Court of Mardi Gras Bowling League and AARP#725 are invited to attend the visitation at St. Angela Merici Church , 835 Melody Drive, Metairie, LA 70002 on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 Noon.
