Vincent Joseph Santalucito, Sr., age 84, passed away at his home with his loving wife of 57 years and children at his side on Sunday, July 10, 2022. Vincent was born on March 18, 1938 in Bay St. Louis, MS to the late John Russell Santalucito, Sr. and Victorine “Nancy” Santalucito Morreale. He was a resident of Chalmette, La for 52 years.
Vincent was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Anaise Guerin Santalucito, his 3 children, Vincent J. Santalucito, Jr. (Dawn), Sal J. Santalucito, Sr. and Vickie Santalucito Graci (Barry); four grandchildren, Sal J. Santalucito, Jr. (Erin), Kaitlin Santalucito Latino (Sonny), Luke P. Santalucito (Valerie) and Dominic J. Graci; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan A. Santalucito and Rory T. Santalucito as well as a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers John R. Santalucito, Jr. and Tony L. Santalucito, Sr. and step-father, Peter A. Morreale. His greatest joy was when he was surrounded by his family.
He was a graduate of Holy Cross High School in New Orleans, Louisiana where he lettered in basketball and of Pearl River Junior College in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He worked as a loan officer until he retired in 2003.
Vincent was strong in his Catholic faith and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in Chalmette, Louisiana. He found enjoyment in fishing and gun collecting and you could always find him in his garage preparing his rods and tackle for a fishing trip or cleaning and working on his guns.
Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022 in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans, LA 70119. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery will follow the chapel service.
