Timothy Jude O'Leary

On Friday, February 12, 2021 Timothy J. O’Leary died peacefully, holding hands with his beloved wife and son. A devout Catholic, Tim had received the Sacraments and was ready to go to heaven. The youngest child of Edward Daniel O’Leary and Margaret Claire Williamson, Tim grew up in the Irish Channel and was a proud graduate of Redemptorist High School, Class of 1966. A devoted, caring family man and a constant friend to many, Tim will be remembered for his sense of fun, quick wit and generous spirit. He made everyone feel special. He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years Maria Paz Casanave, their loving son and daughter-in-law Timothy Patrick and Katie W. O’Leary, and the two brightest stars in Tim’s universe, the girls who called him “Mick,” Avery Grace and Madeline Claire. Tim also is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Gerard J. “Jerry” and Judith C. O’Leary and sister-in-law Alwin D. “Boonie” O’Leary. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, sister Patricia A. Jensen, and brother Edward D. O’Leary, Jr.

Visitation and Mass will be Saturday, March 13, 2021 at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, 825 Melody Drive, Metairie, LA. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 noon. Internment immediately follows at St. Roch Cemetery No. 1, 1725 St. Roch Avenue, New Orleans, LA. Due to current health precautions, all are asked to wear masks, practice social distancing, and no repast or gathering will take place.
