Thinking of you all today- family and friends of Tommy. My mom and aunts face always lit up when they spoke of him and I was so happy they were all able to connect later in life. There will be happy thoughts of him and my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

As a little boy, Tom was bigger than life with a great job, sports car and running around with me on his shoulders. I called him Tom Terrific then, as I idolized him. Tom was my favorite aunt's son, Dotty Cooper. He will be missed by the family, that is for sure. May the peace of God be with everyone.

Well Tom, glad we talked before you left, I know you touched many people! Some might of even enjoyed it! Lol.
I worked for you in the 90’s and came back in 2011 until the close! Thanks for the good times, and even sharing your cognac! Although I preferred whiskey! So many people would stop me and asked where I got the Leadbetters shirt from, near and far away. I would always smile and say I was a bartender there!
They would always tell a funny story or a nice comment about the place! You were indeed a major contributor to the personality of Fells Point!
God speed and see you on the other side!

The unimaginable loss of not 1 but 2 Fell's Point legends leaves us all shaking.
Tom Cooper(Leadbetter's) & Chuck Doering (JohnStevens/Penny Black)
Thames Street was bookended by 2 of the nicest men ever.
Both characters that will never be replicated.
God speed Tom.........& Chuck.
You will be missed forever & ever & neither will ever be forgotten

Requiescat in pace my friend. Like many musicians, Leadbetters gave me the opportunity to perform my music in my neighborhood. You made that place a true "clubhouse" for us all. I'll never forget your compassion and support when my mother passed away. You will live on in our hearts.

RIP my dear old friend "Coop"....will never forget your tales of Leadbetters past (wild times for sure!), The French Quarter Fest with you as a great tour guide and most of all your kindness and making our beloved Leadbetters the place where musicians "cut their teeth" and became a larger family of which you resided over! God speed my friend!

I met Tom Cooper but once, when he was cleaning out his apartment above the bar a few years ago. He was kind enough to let me take any books I wanted -- as much as I could carry - and in his collection were gems of American literature. I would have loved to have taken down some of his stories. A kind man. -- Rafael / 03.01.18

I met Tom the day he opened his bar in Baltimore (Leadbetter's). We have been the best of friends ever since then. Tom is one of the most loyal, caring and generous friends that I've ever been blessed to know. I will miss him more than anyone can know.
