Thomas J. Calamari, Sr. passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on October 8, 2017 at the age of 81.  He was preceded in death by his parents Charles G. Calamari and Augusta Sheeren Calamari and a brother Charles J. Calamari.  Survived by  his wife of 60 years Eris Leche Calamari, his sons Thomas J. Calamari, Jr. ( Patti), Michael J. Calamari ( Rachael ), daughter Tammy C. Horaist ( Shawn ), and his sister Betty C. Jenkins. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Thomas was on the New Orleans Fire Department for 55 years.  He retired from fire suppression at the rank of Captain in 1989 and then continued with the department as the Senior Supply Technician.  He also served 13 years in the LA Air National Guard.  In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation to St. Joseph Hospice.  The memorial services will be private
