Thelma Ladner Kable, age 83, passed away peacefully at her home in New Orleans on Saturday, November 17, 2018, with her daughter by her side. Thelma, a life long resident of New Orleans, is survived by her daughter, Charlann A. Kable, her dog Hope, and several nieces and nephews. Thelma was the daughter of the late Roger Ladner and Angeline Frances Ladner Poblador. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Kable Jr., her brothers, Milton Ladner, Clarence Ladner, Wilfred Ladner and her sister, Marion Ladner Steelhammer. Thelma worked over the years at Charity Hospital, LMJ Inc, owned and operated a small corner grocery, A & C food store, for many years with her husband, and retired in 2005 from the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. She was a loving mother. She loved animals and travel. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her. A Funeral Service will be on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 12:15pm in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of the service. Interment will be in St. Vincent de Paul #3 Cemetery.
