Terri Warren Joubert

Terri Warren (Lynne) Joubert, a radiant and vivacious woman who wholeheartedly loved her family, friends and experiencing all the wonders of her favorite city (maybe you met her at Jazz Fest, Muriel’s, or at Fat Harry’s on Mardi Gras morning – yes, she was the life of the party) died peacefully at her home in Ponchatoula on June 29, 2022, after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 59.

A longtime registered nurse at North Oaks Hospital in Hammond, Terri understood the severity of her diagnosis. Undeterred, she gracefully forged ahead, working in excursions around treatments. She prided herself on saying “yes” to any opportunity and imparted the same spirit to those lucky enough to be near her. Sensing any reluctance to join her on an adventure, she was not above using shame. “Stop being a baby and let’s go,” she’d say. Or more recently, “Don’t make me play the cancer card.”

As much she loved New Orleans, Terri also loved to travel abroad. Quick trips to Vegas and her beloved Florida beaches gave way to numerous trips overseas. But despite being a self-proclaimed “world traveler,” her most treasured spot was always at home with Jimmy, her girls, and her fur babies. Whether on her patio watching a Saints game, seasonal cocktail in hand, or sitting around the table for long games of Canasta, 31, or Scattergories - (yes, she was going to beat you) she was most content just being with her people.

More than anything, Terri loved being with people. Family were friends and friends were family. The size of her heart was unparalleled. Everyone wanted to be near her. She was a magnet for all things wonderful and selflessly gave of herself until her very last breath.

A native New Orleanian who spent the last 40 years of her life living on the Northshore, Terri graduated from Lutheran High School and Southeastern Louisiana University with a BSN. 

Survivors include her husband, James Joubert; her daughters, Ashley Joubert (Ash Bernal) and Lindsay Joubert (Lauren Hudson); her brother, Bob Warren (Vicki Warren); and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Bob Warren Sr. and her mother, Linda Levron Lewis.
