Susan L. O'Brien

Susan Louise Leonhard O’Brien passed away on October 4, 2018 surrounded by her loving family in New Orleans. Susan was a nurse.  She graduated from the Touro Infirmary School of Nursing in 1967.  She was longtime Chief Nursing Officer at St. Charles General Hospital and at Northshore Regional Medical Center.  Susan loved nursing and,  even more, she loved nurses. 
Susan is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Terrence O’Brien and her children Patrick Alexander O’Brien (Angela) and Andrew Marshall O’Brien (Karen), two beautiful grandchildren Alec and Colin, and her devoted sister Marjorie Ethridge.  She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Grace Leonhard and her siblings Ernest A. Leonhard Jr. and Lenore Leonhard Wagner. 
The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. Monday October 8th until 12 Noon at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home.  A service of remembrance will be held at Noon in the parlor.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers donations are requested in Mrs. O’Brien’s name to the New Orleans Museum of Art.
