Steven Matthew Smith

Steven Matthew Smith, beloved son of Eric D. and Virginia Schwandt Smith, and brother to Eric D. Smith, Jr., passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the age of 30. He was born in Metairie, Louisiana on November 26, 1991, and lived most of his life in Destrehan, Louisiana. Steven was the grandson of the late Harold F. Smith, Lorraine Salvaggio Smith, Emile Schwandt, Jr. and Virginia Ferrara Schwandt and is survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins. Steven attended Kehoe France School, Jesuit High School and Louisiana State University. Steven was a kind, loving and caring young man. Throughout high school, Steven thoroughly enjoyed working with adult residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities at Magnolia School. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. All services are private.
