Dr. Steven R. Gentile, PSY.D, 55, passed away suddenly on July 16, 2017 in New Orleans
LA. Steven was born and raised in Bethel, Connecticut on August 31, 1961. He was the son of the late
Rodger and Lorraine (Merz) Gentile.
Steven graduated from Bethel High School and Loyola University of New Orleans. He went on to attain his
Doctorate of psychology from Pepperdine University.
Dr. Gentile had a passion for helping people. That drive showed in his work with children, which he performed
daily, as a child clinical psychologist at Children’s Hospital. His innate kindness was also evident in the love showed, Holly, the geriatric Jack Russell terrier he shared with his beloved husband, Tim Brennan. In addition to Tim, Steven is survived by his brother Ronald Gentile and niece Jenna Cook of Tennessee. His extended family includes New Orleans in-laws John and Maureen Brennan McConnell, Terry and Lorrie Brennan, and Susan Brennan. Steven is also cherished by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins across the United States. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday July 29 at St. Rita Catholic Church 2729 Lowerline in New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 8:30 A.M. Interment private. ARRANGEMNTS BY JACOB SCHOEN & SON FUNERAL HOME.
