Rosemary Fortier Baquie

Rosemary Fortier Baquie was born on November 26, 1926 and passed away on November 5, 2023.  She was the only child of Albert and Leona Fortier.  She was preceded in death by the love of her life Norman Peter Baquie to whom she was married for 71 years and is survived by their four sons Gary J. Baquie (Darlene), Barry M. Baquie (Marlene), Chet M. Baquie, and Mark J. Baquie. They also have one grandson, Jason.

Rosemary graduated with high honors from St. Joseph Academy.  She worked for Whitney Bank where she met her husband.   After her marriage, she was a homemaker raising her four sons and enjoyed cooking delicious meals for her family.  She always enjoyed corresponding with cards to extended family and friends on birthdays and special occasions.  In their retirement years, Rosemary enjoyed dining at various restaurants and watching classic old movies with her loving husband.  Rosemary was dedicated to her family and devout in her Catholic faith.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited for a visitation beginning at 10:00 am with a 12:00 pm Funeral Mass on Monday November 13, 2023 at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home on 3827 Canal Street New Orleans, LA 70119.  Interment will follow in St. Louis #3 Cemetery.
