Rose Margaret Walgamotte

Rose Margaret Caillouette Walgamotte, a native and life-long resident of Metairie, Louisiana, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at the age of 77 after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Vincent G. Walgamotte, Jr., her husband of almost 60 years. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Veronica Walgamotte (Greg Smith) of Bethesda, MD, Shannon Walgamotte (Lynda Moreau) of Metairie, LA and Tina McCoy VanHamlin (Frank) of Kenner, LA. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her parents, Wilfred Sylvester Caillouette, Sr. and Margaret Kathren Esposito and her brother Wilfred Caillouette, Jr. Rose recently retired from the Treasure Chest Casino, where she had worked in the Accounts Payable department for 17 years. She enjoyed camping, taking trips in her RV and square dancing.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119 on Monday, March 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will be Private. In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, please practice social distancing and wear a mask.
