Ronald James Sylvia Sr.

Ronald “Ron” James Sylvia, Sr., 75 of Covington, LA passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 22, 2018 in his home in Bleu Lake Hills Estates. Ron was a 32 year veteran of the New Orleans Fire Department and served 5 years with the Covington Fire Department, fire district 12. Ron was preceded in death by his father Nicale Sylve and his mother Eleanor “Babe” Sylve. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Dora Padron Sylvia, his sons Ronald James Sylvia, Jr. and Michael Joseph Sylvia; his brothers Larry “Nick” Sylvia and Kerry Sylve; daughters-in-law Daina Sylvia and Jennifer Sylvia; sisters-in-law Velda Sylvia and Ellen Sylve; grandchildren Brittany Lynne, Lauren Elaine, Kevin Ronald, Cierra Lynn and Michael Joseph, Jr.; great grandchildren Aaden Cole and Gavin Eric and a host of loving nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Ron’s name to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Association (ALSA.org). Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 12:15 pm on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 in the J. Garic Schoen chapel of JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA.
