Roeling “Roe” Mace , Jr. was born to Jean and Roeling Mace on April 21, 1950, in New Orleans, LA. He graduated from De La Salle High School, and had many stories about his high school years. He attended LSU and was a big Tiger fan. He became a general contractor and did commercial and residential construction. He was a member of Kenner North Kiwanis and was named “Rookie of the Year”. He loved all people, especially children. He mentored several students at Jefferson Community School, making a positive difference in their lives. He loved to party and was an excellent chef! He met Jeanne Monte through a dear friend, Danny Martiny, and they married in 2001. Roe passed away on their 17th Anniversary and despite being quite ill, remembered what day it was! He was embraced by the entire Monte Family, especially Verna, his “adopted” mother. Roe is survived by his three children, Stacy Messina (Nick), Jill Rose (Casey) and Steven Mace. He loved his four granddaughters, Kaela, Kassie, DeeDee and Chloe. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 21, from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. in the J.
