Paulette M. Stein

Paulette Mezzanares Stein, age 72, passed away at home on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  Paulette was born in New Orleans on September 21, 1946 to the late Paul and Hilda Mezzanares.  She attended Our Lady Star of the Sea School and graduated from Annunciation High School.  She married Hilton Stein, Jr. in April 1966.  Paulette was a loving and devoted wife, mother, aunt, sister and friend to many.  She greatly valued her family.  She is survived by her husband, children Brian Mezzanares, Steven Stein, Sr. and Stephanie Stein Badinger; grandchildren Steven Stein, Jr., Jack Badinger, III , (JT),  Jeremy Badinger, Caitlyn Maas, Ashley Mezzanares, Emily Mezzanares and great grandson Gabriel Wilson all of whom affectionately called her “Mimi.”  She also leaves behind her sister Paula Mezzanares Sharbonno (Craig) and brother Samuel Mezzanares (Priscilla) as well as a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 11:00-12:15 at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel
