Paul Blanchard

August 5, 1969 ~ August 23, 2020 (age 51) 51 Years Old

Tribute

On Sunday August 23, 2020 the Lord called home his faithful servant Paul Blanchard at the age of 51 years old. Born in New Orleans on August 5, 1969, the youngest of six children, Paul attended Holy Name of Jesus School and graduated from De La Salle High School. He continued his education at The University of New Orleans where he received a BA in Finance. Working as a valet at Commander’s Palace he saved up enough money to buy his first house. Paul continued to invest in real estate and renovations as he enjoyed revitalizing old properties.  His talent and inspiring work ethic made him a successful set dresser in the film industry, moving his way up to a production designer. He was known for his work on Self/less, Deja Vu, Seeking Justice, Because of Winn Dixie and Walk Away Joe. Paul never met a stranger, and made lifelong friendships and working relationships. He loved cars, seafood and spending time with his family. He leaves behind his beloved son Patrick and loving fiancee  Aimee Huber, his mother Linda Venus Mayer, his father Walter John Blanchard Sr., his four sisters: Mary Blanchard Sonnier (Greg), Jean Blanchard Stickney (Robert), Ann Blanchard Dunbar (Michael), and Dr. Catherine Blanchard Kemp, as well as his brother Jack Blanchard (Cindy Lajeunesse), and his half siblings Danny, Paige and Courtney Blanchard. Paul is also survived by many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Due to Covid-19 restrictions in the city of New Orleans limiting the number of people who are allowed to attend services, the family will have a private visitation and service.  ARRANGEMENTS BY JACOBS SCHOEN & SON FUNERAL HOME 3827 CANAL ST.
