Mildred Monju Powell

Mildred Monju Powell earned her wings into heaven on December 20, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Louis Anthony Monju, Sr. and Mildred Pitfield Monju. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Hugh Joseph Powell, Sr. a WWII Veteran, son Glenn Joseph Powell, and grandson Louis. Left to enjoy her memories are her daughter, Dianne L. Powell (Lynn), and sons Hugh J. Powell, Jr.(Darlene deceased), and Brian J. Powell, Sr. (Francheska), brother Louis Monju (Darlene) and Lynne Monju Kwitsky (Burt). She leaves behind seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Mildred loved her family and quilting.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 23, 2021 followed by a Prayer Service from the parlor of Jacob Schoen & Son, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119 at 1:00 P.M. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
