Melvin Joseph Bergeron

Melvin Joseph Bergeron was given his reward of eternal life with God on Thursday, March 24th, 2022. He was born May 17, 1959. He was the son of the late Hugh Lester Bergeron, and the grandson of the late Melvin Placide and Thelma Rizan Barre’, and Hervin Joseph and Elise Bienvenu Bergeron. He is survived by his mother, Armella Barre’ Bergeron; 5 sisters, Jeannine Bergeron Thibodaux (Donald, M.D.), Annette Bergeron Oertling, Ph. D. (Michael), Michelle Bergeron Abry, R.N. (Greg), Yvette Bergeron McGuinness (Steve), and Nicole Bergeron Karcher, M.D. (Christian); 12 nieces and nephews, and 8 great-nieces and nephews. Services will be Friday, April 8th at St. Dominic Church, 775 Harrison Avenue, New Orleans LA, with visitation at 11:30am and a Catholic Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30pm. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Edgard, Louisiana. Arrangements entrusted to Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Melvin’s name to Evergreen Life Services, Melvin’s caregivers for his last years.
