Mary Lee Royer Rhodes

Mary Lee Faye Royer Rhodes, age 99, passed from this life into our Lord’s arms on January 18, 2021. Mary Lee was a native of Linton, Indiana. She received her degree in education from Indiana State Teachers College, now Indiana State University, in Terre Haute, Indiana. Upon her marriage to Paul L. Rhodes, she moved to Buffalo, NY where they lived for 30 years. After retirement, they moved to Slidell, LA. While retired, she enjoyed bowling on the seniors' league, reading and watching Saints games. She was a long time member of the North Buffalo Church of Christ and the Slidell Church of Christ. She was predeceased by Paul L. Rhodes, her husband of 51 years, her parents Rochester and Susan Royer, her sister Hilma and her brother Harry. She is survived by her sons, Paul “Jerry” Rhodes (Ruth) and Daniel M. Rhodes (Kathleen). Also survived by 4 grandchildren, Mark Rhodes (Melissa), Dale Rhodes (Lindsey), Sarah Chadwick (Sean) and Benjamin Rhodes (Carla) and 6 great grandchildren, Trooper Rhodes, Evelyn Rhodes, Miriam Wamsley, Elijah Wamsley, Paul Rhodes and Benjamin Rhodes.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a kind and gentle person who was devoted to her family, friends and her faith in the Lord. She was truly a blessing to all who knew her and will be dearly missed. A special thanks to the caregivers and staff of Park Provence and Passages Hospice. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, Indiana with a Graveside Service. Arrangements entrusted to Jacob Schoen & Son.
