August 8, 1927 ~ July 3, 2022 (age 94)

Tribute

Marilyn Augusta Mitchell LaGrange Boyle, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 3, 2022.
Marilyn was born in New Orleans, LA on August 8, 1927 to the late Leona Huge Mitchell and Vincent Patrick Mitchell. Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 23 years, John Kenneth LaGrange, Jr. and by her beloved husband of 25 years Daniel Louis Boyle.
She was the loving mother of Pamela LaGrange Compagno (Frank), John Kenneth LaGrange, III (Kathleen) and Jo-Ann LaGrange Tusa (Michael). Marilyn was the proud “Gran” to Julie Compagno Reynolds (Chad), Jennifer Compagno Cooley (Chris), Jan Compagno Cabibi (Rudi), Jason Karl LaGrange (Katy Benson), Charles David LaGrange (Taylor), Chad Michael Tusa (Marianne), Amy Tusa Blanke (Timmy). Great Grandmother to Madyson, Grayson, Logan & Rowan Cooley, Ashley & Grant Reynolds, Teagan & Easton Cabibi, Gavin, Collin & Molly Tusa, Mackenzie & Christian Blanke; and great-great grandmother to Olivia Normand. She was the loving sister of Patricia Mitchell and Vincent Mitchell. Survived by a host of nieces and nephews and best life-long friend of Lois Tusa. She loved her family and was “Gran” to many more than those biologically hers. She will be deeply missed and will be in our hearts forever.
Marilyn’s passions in life included her family, dancing, Mardi Gras parades and travel. She always looked forward to our annual family crawfish boils at her house. She never turned down an invitation to go to dinner, get-togethers, and shopping. She led a very active life until a few months ago.
Marilyn worked for the Jefferson Parish Regulatory Inspection Department and retired after 29 years. Marilyn was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church.
We would like to thank her wonderful neighbors, Wendy and Ken Cochran, Compassus Hospice, as well as her compassionate caregivers, Mary Navarre, Julia Calderon, Regina Harris for their loving care.
