Marie Knutson

Marie Celeste Thiberville Knutson 85, beloved wife of Don Clark Knustson passed away peacefully on Friday, September 22,2023.

Marie was a native of New Orleans and a long-time resident of Kenner, La. Where she attended Ursuline Academy c/o 1954. At the age of 19, Marie worked at the Conservative Whitney Bank until she met the love of her life Don.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Father: Maurice Joseph Thiberville Sr. Mother: Marie Celeste Delaup Thiberville, and brother Maurice Joseph Thiberville Jr.

Marie professed her faith at an early age, where she attended Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church now Divine Mercy Parish. She had a positive outlook on life and a delightful sense of humor.

Marie was a World traveler, where she explored all 50 states. She liked California but her favoriate was still Louisiana. She was able to travel to all the states of Central America.

She was a Saints season ticket holder for over 30 years, and she never missed a home game. Marie was President of the New Orleans Saints Booster Club for 25 years. She was awarded the Fleur Delis by the Saints Hall of fame in 1996, also she was the first woman to receive the award, she received Appreciation for 24 years of Loyal and dedicated service to the New Orleans Saints Booster Club, in recognition of the commitment and dedication to the fans of the New Orleans Saints, Marie received Certificate of Appreciation for the New Orleans Saints Fan Advisory Board members. She was President of the Ladies St. John G.C in 1983 and received an award as the G.C Champion in 1994-95

Survived by her husband Don Clark Knustson of 51 years of marriage, she leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many other loving family and friends.

The family is grateful for the loving care provided by the staff of Best Care Home Services and Hospice Associates.
