Tribute

Marie Gaudet Beaulieu, a native of Thibodaux and a resident of Metairie, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018, at the age of 91. She was a woman of faith, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She trained as a nurse at Charity Hospital School of Nursing in the Cadet Nursing Program and worked for many years at Montelepre and Mercy Hospitals.  Marie was the first female coach of a 16 year old boy’s baseball team, winning a city championship. Survived by her children Gayle Beaulieu Terrebonne (Val), Clifford (Tony) Beaulieu, Jr. (Cindy), Kay Beaulieu Kenney (Robert), Robin Beaulieu Lee (Brian), preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Marie Beaulieu, a son Jeffrey Joseph Beaulieu, and her husband of 65 years Clifford Beaulieu; also survived by grandchildren Kristie (John), Jeff (Laura), Lauren (Jeff), Marcelle, Zach, Alix, Mark, and Jeanne; great grandchildren, Jonah, Sofia, Kensey, Jane, Cadence, Anne, and Selah. Preceded in death by her parents Gaston and Leonise Gaudet and her 11 brothers and sisters. Special thanks to her caregivers, Lacey and Regeina, for their compassionate support. 
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to be celebrated in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal Street, on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM with visitation at the funeral home beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Louis #3 Cemetery with a reception to follow at Jacob Schoen & Son. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jeffrey Beaulieu Scholarship Fund at DeLaSalle High School, 5300 St. Charles Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70115.
