Margaret Ann Dugas

Ann (Bodin) Dugas, 89, died Sunday, September 18th, 2022 in New Orleans. Ann was a native of Texas, but lived in Louisiana for 68 years. In her youth she was a proud member of the Melody Maids, a singing group that entertained US troops during and after WWII. She went on to college to become a Nurse and proudly served in the Army. Ann was also an accomplished seamstress who loved to make costumes and anything Mardi Gras or Christmas related. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Dr. Roy Joseph Dugas, and her son, Roy J. Dugas Jr. Survived by her sons, Robert Paul Dugas and Wade Joseph Dugas, and daughter, Mary J. Dugas, and four granddaughters. She will be remembered for her warm smile, loving nature, and her love of the color red. In heaven, may your lipstick always be on perfect.The family will receive friends Saturday, September 24th from 10am to 12:15pm at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans, LA 70119. A service will be held in the adjoining chapel at 12:15pm with interment to follow in St. Louis #1 Cemetery. For those who wish, donations are requested for Save Our Cemeteries in Ann’s name.
