Marilyn Louise Clay Cresson, age 68, died at home surrounded by her loving family on September 5, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 50 years, William “Billy” Cresson, Jr., and her four daughters Colette Ranatza, J.D. (Matt), Alyce Bowers, P.T. (Eddie, Jr.), Catherine Cresson, Ph.D. (David Bergeron), and Michelle Foster, M.A., C.F.E (John). She is also survived by her five adoring grandchildren, Amanda and Clay Bowers, Zoey and Spencer Bergeron, and Elizabeth “Ellie” Foster, who knew her as “Mimi”. She is survived by her six siblings, Barbara Dallam (Roger deceased), Carolyn Brown (Torger), Cathleen Pfifer (Jim), David Clay, Sr. (Bonnie), Robert and Chris Clay (Debbie), and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Wilton and Marion Clay, her brother Richard Clay, Sr. and her in-laws William, Sr. and June Cresson. She grew up in Lakeview where she graduated from Mount Carmel Academy in 1966. For over 30 years, she worked along side her husband at Cresson Brush. She was an avid reader, mystery buff, and sports fan. She worked tirelessly to foster her daughters’ education and encourage them in all their accomplishments.
She will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 1:30 PM on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Our Lady of The Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
