Lucien Florentino Justin

Lucien Florentino Justin peacefully passed from this life on June 2, 2022. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Miriam Roussel Justin.

Lucien was born in New Orleans on December 20, 1923, the youngest child of Rene Justin and Bonifacia Ruiz Justin. He and his four siblings, Doris (Winfred), Rene Jr., Alexander and Frances (Ladmirault) grew up in the Treme neighborhood.

Lucien served in the United States Army during World War II and later attended The Ohio State University.  He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1987 after forty years where he first volunteered for the Special Olympics. He believed in the organization and continued to work with them during his retirement years.

Lucien is survived by his three children, Stephanie (Bordenave), Lucien II (Tino) and Jani, and his two grandchildren, Rebecca Levitt (Hosch) and Peter Espinoza. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of Jacob Schoen & Son, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM. Interment will be in St. Louis #2 Cemetery.
