Laura was a graduate of LSU, majoring in Music, and was a member of the LSU Tiger marching band. Every year, she looked forward to playing her bassoon at the Homecoming game when the alumni would play with the Tiger Band and march on the field at half time. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Ladies Auxiliary for the Knights of Columbus and the Ladies Engineering Society of NOLA. She was a devout Catholic who loved being a Eucharistic Minister at St. Rose de Lima and then Our Lady of the Rosary Church. She was proud to use her teaching skills as a Volunteer for the YMCA “Learn to Read” program for 20 years. Laura enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Mardi Gras with her family, making oyster patties for Thanksgiving and meatballs and red gravy for Christmas, and being a great Mrs. Claus.
