Kevin Daniel Wendel

Kevin Daniel Wendel aged 52, a lifelong resident of New Orleans, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. He is survived by his beloved daughters Laine and Chloe, their mother, Vickie, their brother Lawrence, his devoted mother Ilone “Toni” Klein Wendel, brother Ronald Wendel, Jr. (Arlene) and sisters Claudelle Wendel Vallette (Sewall) and Kathleen Wendel, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Wendel, Sr. He is also survived by scores of loving friends, so many of whom he had known for more than thirty years.
Kevin’s larger-than-life personality and his joy for living made him a welcome addition to any gathering of any size. Kevin simply knew no strangers. He was an enthusiastic participant in all the things New Orleans had to offer, particularly Mardi Gras, and he was a proud member of the Krewe of the Rolling Elvi. Kevin will be deeply missed by his family and friends, none more so than by Laine and Chloe, whom he cherished so deeply.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 4640 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119 on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kevin’s name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, www.jdrf.org. Due to the current COVID-19 mandates, please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
