It is with great sadness that the family of Kevin Paul Dugas announces his passing after complications from his battle with Scleroderma during the COVID-19 Pandemic on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at the age of 56 years old. Kevin was a kind and gentle soul. He absolutely loved New Orleans and always had an interesting fact or story to share about the city he held so dear. He also loved the great food this city had to offer and enjoyed eating out with friends and family. When he wasn't working, he loved to be outside on his bike, watering the numerous plants brought home by his daughter Haley or on the water kayaking and fishing with his brother Chris. He was always ready for a good time. His adventurous spirit will be missed by all who knew him. Kevin will be lovingly remembered by his wife Christina and his daughters, Hannah and Haley. His 4 granddaughters - Nikki, Lizzi, Charli, and Arya - will forever remember their Papa and how much he loved them. He will also be sorely missed by his brother, Chris Dugas (Alicia) and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nephews who all loved and admired him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Huey and Jacqueline, sisters Nancy and Lisa, and his brother-in-law David. A memorial service in memory of Kevin will be held on Friday July 24th, 2020 at 4:00 pm in the J. Garic Chapel of JACOB SCHOEN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm and continue until Mass time. “Due to the current restriction in Orleans Parish, only 25 guests are allowed to attend the funeral services and are required to practice social distancing as well as wear face coverings at the funeral home. The family is grateful for your understanding and compassion.” In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you properly celebrate Kevin's memory by having a beer or your favorite cocktail in his memory and sharing stories with your loved ones.
