Julian Rollins Murray, Jr. 79, died September 27, 2017.

Born January 30th, 1938 in Atlanta, Georgia. Predeceased by his wife Kathleen Effie Drown , parents Virginia Horgan and Julian Rollins Murray, Sr., siblings Robert, John Tyler, and Virginia.

Mr. Murray is survived by his children Shawn Michael Murray, married to Donna Lynn, and Kathleen Murray Beach, married to David Louis Beach, Jr. who are the parents of Mr. Murray's four grandchildren, Gillian Maureen, Emma Grace, David Louis III, and Jack Rollins. 

One of 12 children Mr. Murray is  survived by William, Jean Offan, Lewis, Stephen, Margaret Mitchell, Michael, C. Joseph, and Patrick. 

Mr. Murray Graduated from Jesuit high School, was in the first graduating class of LSUNO 
and Tulane Law School  graduating in 1964. Practiced law with Sidney Provensal in Slidell.  Practiced law with Hubert, Baldwin, and Zibilich. Mr. Hubert was formerly District Attorney and member of the Warren Commission.  Julian then became an assistant District Attorney  in Jim Garrisons office where he was the head of the Fraud Division.  From the District Attorney’s office he went to  the US Attorney’s office under Gerald Gallinghouse and became first assistant under Gallinghouse. He went with the Louisiana Attorney General, William Guste  serving as the head of the criminal division.  From there he practiced law in Murray, Murray, Ellis, Braden, and Landry Law firm focusing primarily on criminal defense. He then joined the Chehardy, Sherman, Ellis, Murray, and Recile Law firm doing criminal defense and general litigation and he recently retired from the Chehardy firm. He was an adjunct professor of law at Tulane Law school and was head of the Trail Advocacy Program for approximately 30 years. In 2005 he was awarded the Distinguished Attorney Award by the Louisiana Bar foundation. He was an accomplished singer and outstanding tenor voice, and frequently performed at weddings , funerals, and ceremonies in the New Orleans area. Donations in Mr. Murray's name are appreciated to one of his favorite charities St, Jude Children's Research Hospital, Texas Children's Hospital, Histiocytosis Research/Treatment Division, Dr Kenneth McClain for direct donation purposes. Funeral Services will be Tuesday October 3, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home 3827 Canal St.  Interment to follow in All Saints Mausoleum at Lake Lawn Park.  The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until service time
