Joyce Ruth Schmitt

Joyce R. Schmitt, age 85, passed away on Sunday January 13 at her home.  She was preceded in death by her parents William Schmitt and Louise Bosquet, and her husband Joseph L. Martin, Jr. Joyce was born in New Orleans and was a resident of Metairie.  She was employed by WWL Studios in New Orleans for many years. Survived by her step –children Lorena (Lou) and Ronald (Carolyn), Step-grandchildren, David (Jamie), Tina (Billy), Daniel, Joseph (Brandie), and Gina (David). A host of step-great grandchildren and step-great great grandchildren, as well as numerous cousins. A special thank you to the Blue Line Sandwich Company and Byblos Restaurant where Joyce had breakfast and lunch daily, the VCA Causeway Animal Hospital and Dr. Rachel Morse for caring for Heidi during Joyce’s illness and her caregivers Robin, Antoinette, Barbara, Gloria, Darlene, and Brenda.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday January 23 at 12 noon at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church 105 Bonnabel Blvd. Metairie, LA.  Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. until Mass time.  Interment to follow in Hope Mausoleum
