On Saturday, September 16, 2017, Joyce Ann Garic Lionnet passed away at the age of 91, surrounded by her loving children and family. She was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by her parents, Sterling and Stella Garic, and her adoring husband of nearly 60 years, Alfred Joseph Lionnet, Jr. Joyce is survived by her 3 devoted children: Alfred Joseph Lionnet, III (Peggy), Patricia Lionnet Matthews (Michael), and Glenn Thomas Lionnet. She was loved tremendously by her 6 grandchildren: Sean, Jeff (Yvette), Katie (Warren), Melanie, Courtney (Scotty), Matthew (Libby) and Taylor (Miranda). Joyce is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, with a 7th arriving in December. Joyce was a member of St. Joseph’s Academy Class of 1944. She was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Church on Esplanade where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Holy Rosary was a huge piece of her life since childhood. Joyce also served as a member of the Marians, Naim Conference, and the St. Vincent’s Guild. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, friend and grandmother. She was truly one of a kind. Her passing is the end of an era for our family, and she will forever be missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass at 12:15pm on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
