John Joseph Hicks Jr.

John Joseph Hicks, Jr. passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023, at the age of 88. He was born August 19, 1934 and was a native of New Orleans.

Mr. Hicks enlisted in the Navy at age of 18 and served honorably. After the military he worked for the City of New Orleans in the Public Works Department and also provided private security guard service until he retired. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Hicks is preceded in death his parents, John Joseph Hicks, Sr. and Elenora Trouillia. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan L. (Evans) Hicks; his daughter Deborah H. Dominguez (Alfred); his stepchildren,  Elijah Shaphat, Jerry Wharton (Samantha), Gerald Wharton (Claudia) and several grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 17th at 8:30 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St, New Orleans, 70119.
