JoAnn Ecuyer McNeel

JoAnn Ecuyer McNeel passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at The Carpenter House Hospice in Harahan, Louisiana. JoAnn was a Native of New Orleans and grew up in Old Jefferson where she graduated from Dominican High School and practiced nursing as an LPN at Hotel Dieu prior to marrying and raising a family. JoAnn is survived by her husband of 60 years Ted C. McNeel Sr, her daughters Michelle McNeel Helmke (Robert) and Jennifer McNeel Beck (Will), her son Ted C. McNeel Jr (Addi), her two grandsons Connor Louis Helmke and Cole Hudson Helmke, and her brother Lawrence Ecuyer (Linda). She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph Octave Ecuyer and Ellen Cotton Ecuyer, and her brothers Richard Ecuyer and Allen Ecuyer. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at 12pm on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans, LA 70119. Visitation will begin at 10am. Interment will follow at Hope Mausoleum, 4841 Canal Street.
