James Maurice Soniat

At the age of 61, James Maurice Soniat died at home on October 20, 2021. He is survived by his daughter Heather M. Soniat (fiancé Danny), grandson Danny G White III, granddaughter Mia R White, mother Myrtle Curtis Soniat, brothers Alfred J. Soniat III (wife Marian), Kenneth G. Soniat (wife Angel) and Donald P. Soniat, sister Beverly Soniat Urbina (husband Carlos), nephews Cody M. Soniat and Jonathan M. Urbina, niece Carmen M. Urbina, and great nephew Cody M. Soniat Jr. He is preceded in death by his father Alfred J. Soniat Jr. James was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, spending most of his career as an auto mechanic. He was a Saints fan and automobile enthusiast. He attended W.C.C. Claiborne, St. Gabriel the Archangel Elementary School, Brother Martin High School, and J.F. Kennedy High School where he graduated in 1979. Private Services will be held.
