James Bertus Sirgo

James Bertus Sirgo, 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Juanita Guidry Sirgo for 53 years, father of Donna Maria Sirgo, grandfather of Stephanie Miller, Katelyn Applewhite and Daren Kelly and great-grandfather of Tatum, Brynn, Paisley, Noah, Makenzie, Saige and Luke. He was preceded in death by his parents Desire (Daisy) and James Barcena Sirgo, as well as his brother, O.J. Cuevas. James was a life-long resident of the greater New Orleans area. He graduated from St. Aloysius in 1943, then went on to attend Tulane University. He was the co-owner of Southern Printing Co. He had a great love for Mardi Gras and was a member of the Crew of Carrollton for many years, then became an officer in the Krewe of Endymion for over 50 years. He was a devoted catholic and member of the Knights of Columbus. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation and Memorial Service beginning at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 26th, 2021 with a Mass at 12:00 Noon at St. Angela Merici Church, 835 Melody Drive, Metairie, LA 70002.
