Jacquelyn L. Steeg

Jacquelyn Louise LaCroix Steeg (Nana) passed away at home on Friday, May 25, 2018 at the age of 71. She was born on August 14, 1946 in New Orleans. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert J. LaCroix and Madelyn Cheney LaCroix. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, C.J. Steeg, Jr., and her three children Kelly Haro (Noel), David Steeg (Stacey), and Gretchen Morris (Patrick). She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren whom she adored, Christian and Cheney Pilie’, Mason and Jackson Haro, Emma, Abby and Sarah Steeg, and Shelby, Carter and Cullen Morris. She is also survived by her siblings Lynda LaCroix, Patricia LaCroix, Donna McStay (Ross) and Albert LaCroix (Susan) along with numerous nieces and nephews. Jackie, known to many as Marshmother, loved fishing, gardening and hosting family gatherings. She was an excellent cook, homemaker and her fudge was legendary. She made friends everywhere she went, and her beautiful smile will be missed by everyone who knew her. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to everyone who helped with her care, especially Hilda Sims. Flowers are welcome or donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her name are appreciated. Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA. .
