Jacquelyn “Jacque” Ann Robert Pass, a shining light to all who knew her, left this life on Sunday, September 25, 2022. During her five month struggle with brain cancer, she was lovingly tended at home by her devoted children, allowing her peace and dignity in her transition. Jacque was born on November 27, 1948, the third of four children of her parents, Stanley J Robert and Lily Grace Robert. She was preceded in death by her generous and fun-loving parents, her sassy older sister, Thelma ‘Dutsie’ Sinclair, her son Kristopher when he was only a toddler, and her loving husband Orien Pass. She is survived by her kind children, Kirk Giles (Tammie) of Beaumont, TX and Sonsheree Giles (Mark Guthrie) of the San Francisco Bay Area, and her brother Stan Robert (Ann) and Cyril Robert. Jacque gladly accepted the role of matriarch to her extensive extended family and took pride in keeping abreast of, and enjoying the events of their lives. Jacque was raised in Metairie, LA, where she was a high school cheerleader and a member of the inaugural graduating class at Archbishop Chapelle High School in 1966. She had a life-long passion for dance, fashion, gardening, and travel and she enjoyed many adventures abroad and domestically with her husband Orien and with her children. Jacque decorated her beloved home with whimsical furnishings reflective of her durable hope and humor, even in the face of difficult challenges and losses. She is best described as a vibrant, strong-willed, charming and resourceful woman who loved and enjoyed her family and her many friends. As her granddaughter, Olivia, once exclaimed “GJ (Grandma Jacque) can do anything” and Jacque lived as though she believed that to be true. An epic celebration of life will be held in New Orleans, late November. Details will be announced at a later date.
