Jacqueline M Canik

Jacqueline Martinez Canik, age 71, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2022. She was born August 26, 1950, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Jacqueline graduated from Francis T. Nicholls High School in 1968. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro Anthony Martinez and Leah Kahl Martinez, her sister, Patricia Martinez Dobard and her brother, Commander Carlos J. Martinez. Jaki is survived by her daughter, Amy Province (Quentin), and grandson, Baker Province. Along with her siblings, Pedro (Linda), Dwayne, and Ricardo, together with numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Jaki is retired from McDermott International and worked more currently for Benefit Analysts in Metairie. She loved spending time with her family and friends and adored her grandson. She instilled in her daughter strong values that have served her well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass at 12:15 PM on Thursday, August 18th in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans, LA 70119. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow the mass in Metairie Cemetery.
