Hugh E. Marquis

Hugh E. Marquis passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of 55 years to Claudia Sandoz Marquis. Loving father of Michael Marquis (Pam), Jennifer Vollenweider (Ed) and Kathryn Mockler (Chris) and devoted grandfather to Michael Marquis, Jr., Annelise, Madeline, Caroline and Andrew Vollenweider, Eve and Christian Mockler. A graduate of Louisiana State University in geophysics, he served in the United States Army after college before beginning his lifelong career as a geophysicist in the oil industry. An avid reader, he loved fishing, baseball and being the number one fan in the stands at his grandchildren’s many sporting events.
Relatives and friends are invited to remember Hugh and celebrate his life at a Mass in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of JACOB SCHOEN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119 on Tuesday, November 19th, 2019 at 11 AM. A visitation will be from 10 AM until Mass time. Interment will be in St. Louis #3 Cemetery.
