Henry Bernard Eckers III passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 11th at home. He was 95. Mr. Eckers was a native of New Orleans, a member of St. James Major Catholic Church and a past president of the New Orleans Appliance and Electronics Association. After graduating high school, Mr. Eckers served overseas as an aircraft mechanic in The United States Navy in World War II and in The United States Navy Reserve in the Korean War. Upon his return, he founded Quality Service Company Inc., appliance sales and repair on St. Claude Avenue, which he ran successfully for many years with his wife and son. Preceded in death by his loving wife Florence Thibodeaux Eckers. Son of the late Henry Bernard Eckers Jr. and Julia Albert Eckers all of New Orleans. Survived by his son Henry Bernard Eckers IV and grandson Henry Bernard Eckers V. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 12:15 pm on Friday, May 17, 2019 in the J.Garic Schoen Chapel of JACOB SCHOEN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119.
