Hector R. Maldonado, Jr., 63, entered eternal life on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Hector was born on December 14, 1959 in Killeen, Texas, and resided in Kenner for the past 34 years. Hector graduated from Brother Martin High School in 1977, where he was a proud member of both the baseball team and the band. He attended the University of New Orleans, followed by the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1984. Hector subsequently completed his residency in orthodontics in 1988. He entered into private practice in Metairie and Lutcher, where he gave the gift of a beautiful smile to thousands of patients. In addition to his private practice, Hector was a mentor to many orthodontic residents as a faculty member of the LSU Orthodontic Department. Hector was actively involved as a parishioner of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, where he proudly served on the school board and was a member of the Men’s Club. He enjoyed riding in the Krewe of Thoth with his son and son-in-law. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Alfred and Marie Helmke, his father, Hector R. Maldonado, Sr., and his grandsons, Angel Matthew and Angel Michael. Survived by the love of his life of 40 years, Marie, his children Aimee (Matt) Brown and Kyle (Jamie) Maldonado. Adoring grandfather to Avery and Addison Brown. Beloved son of Judith Maldonado and step son of Blanca Maldonado. Brother to Wayne (Gwen) Maldonado and Leslie (Paul) Armbruster. Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Saturday, March 18, 2023 with a funeral mass at 11:00 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Metairie, LA. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A private Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the J.M.
