Greenberry Bush Taylor Jr

Greenberry Bush Taylor Jr., 74, passed away September 28, 2022, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mr. Taylor was born September 17th, 1948, in Meridian, Mississippi. He was raised by his parents, Greenberry Taylor Sr. and Katherine Taylor, along with his sister Kay.

He was a proud graduate of Spring Hill College, where he received a full scholarship to play baseball for the legendary Stan Galle. After college, Mr. Taylor worked in retail before pursuing a career in marine insurance where he spent nearly four decades building a reputation as one of the best agents in the business. He played a large role in the development of youth sports in Fairhope and was inducted into the Fairhope Pirate Booster Club Hall of Fame. He loved his family deeply, and in his free time made every effort to spend time with them. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing, which he did with his dad growing up and later in life with his children.

Mr. Taylor is preceded in death by his father, Greenberry Taylor Sr. He is survived by the following: his wife, Ann Taylor; his five children, Lauren (Craig) Ramsay, Shai (Jake) Markris, Justin (Susan) Taylor, Mallory (Josh) DiBartolo, and Tripp (Amanda) Taylor; and his 9 grandchildren, Ryan, Caroline, Jacob, Will, Virginia, Lawson, Alex, Madeline, and Francis; and his mother, Katherine, and sister, Kay (Scottie)

In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the G.B. Taylor Jr. Youth Sports Scholarship at Trustmark Bank, or via Venmo (https://tinyurl.com/yuc9neka). A visitation will be held on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 1:00 p.m. at Fairhope United Methodist church, with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
