Geneva A De La Cerda

Geneva De La Cerda was born in New Orleans LA on September 13, 1954, to the late Charles De La Cerda and Pauline Guillot De La Cerda. She passed away on August 22, 2018 at her home of complications from cancer. Geneva is preceded in death by her parents and sister Dolores De La Cerda Murphy. She is survived by her brothers Charles De La Cerda (Ruth), Richard De La Cerda (Denise), brother in law Michael Murphy and nieces and nephews; Bonnie, Colleen, Connie, Dena, Rico, Timothy, Kim, Michael, David, Richard, Shannon, numerous great nieces and nephews, godchildren Rico, Codi, Kurt and Edward and her lifelong friend, Joe Springer (Toni). Neva/Amph loved her family and delighted in going to parties and celebrating holidays. Her most cherished possession was her dog, Ace. She was a kind and gentle person who made everyone around her feel loved. Geneva was an innocent soul who loved music, the New Orleans Saints, the LSU Tigers and most of all her family and friends. Geneva was co-owner of Joe’s Cobbler Workbench on Maple Street in New Orleans. Geneva and Joe, her chosen brother, worked side by side for over thirty years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 10:30 am till 1:30pm on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA. Prayers in the parlor will begin at 1:30pm. Interment will be in St. Louis #3 Cemetery.
