Gail died peacefully on January 29, 2020 with family surrounding her.  She was born August 22, 1937 to Katherine and Charles Hartman.  She lived her life in New Orleans and Big Branch with her husband Marx until his death.  She was Nana to Ben, her only grandchild.  She was Mom to Doug, Karen, Denis and Lynn and their spouses.   She is survived by her sisters Mary Kay and Jane, her brothers Raymond, Charlie and Malcolm, their spouses and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.  She is preceded in death by her loving sister and friend Noel Jurgens and Noel’s daughter Julie Jurgens.  She was a devout Catholic, had an expert green thumb, and enjoyed cheering the N. O. Saints, watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and Perry Mason!  The family invites you to wear something red (her favorite color) and celebrate her life during visitation starting at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (4640 Canal Street).  She will be interred alongside her loving husband at Mandeville Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Botanical Gardens at New Orleans City Park (http://neworleanscitypark.com/botanical-garden/donations) or St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (https://www.sapparish.org/). JACOB SCHOEN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119 in charge of arrangements.
