Eugene Alfred Antoine Jr

April 14, 1950 ~ December 17, 2017 (age 67) 67 Years Old
Known to everyone as Chip, Eugene Alfred Antoine, Jr. passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the age of 67 after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. A native of New Orleans, he was born on April 14, 1950 to the late Eugene A. and Adele Surgi Antoine, and was a brother to Pamela Aucoin (Clyde), James Antoine (Kathleen), Lise Valliant (John) and Jacques Antoine (Kelly). He was married to his beloved wife Marianne Williams Antoine for 47 years and was a loving father to Collette Antoine, Eugène Antoine, and Beth Antoine (Eric Ogburn). He was a proud grandfather to Amelia Antoine Peacock, Jack Flukinger, Billy Flukinger, Madeleine Ogburn and Miles Ogburn.
A graduate of Christian Brothers School and De La Salle High School, Chip loved playing football and running track. He graduated from Loyola University, became a CPA and then dove into the world of business. He started working at Surgi Equipment under the tutelage of his dearly-loved grandfather, the late William F. Surgi, and eventually became President of the family business. He later transferred his love for technology and heavy equipment to the medical device industry, bringing charismatic leadership and a talent for strategy to multiple executive leadership roles over the course of his career. He was devoted to his family, and treasured his friends. He loved to play golf and tennis, and he loved parties, telling stories, laughter and life.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation and memorial service at JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119 on Friday, December 22, 2017.
